Wedding Pictures and our Sea Turtle!

"Using the coconut shell as our coin holder added a special touch to
our Boracay wedding.
We love the fact that you hand-paint, number and record each of these shells, so we shall treasure ours and remember your admirable work always. Thank you for making these unique ba-os!"

What a wonderful idea.

Now, I'm thinking of how many other creative uses one can make of your art.

First that comes to mind: jewelry holder!

Yes, senor enrique, my sister confessed that once she had used the bao I gifted her as a jewel receptacle. Actually the art pieces are sprayed twice with a fixative and then a non-gloss emulsion so i guess they'd be protected for a while...Thanks!

Nice siguro if you can make a receptacle/holder na magka-takip. You get what I mean? You can put a handle on the cover. I would like the exterior to be designed with the B'laan or Bagobo patterns as those in your previous post. The interior can just be plain, so long as it's smooth and coated. It will look like a mini 'coco tampipi'. I wish you could come for exhibit again in Manila. I won't let it pass! :)

thank you, Rhodora for your interesting suggestion! That would entail a lot of extra work though but create a new line of look. Will try to brainstorm on this with my husband. Meanwhile, I hope to be able to come up with some works (aside from the baos) and join the Salcedo Arts Fair this June.

Hmmm... jewelry receptacle. How about putting tiny holes surrounding the edge, where hoop earrings can be hung? :-)

That's another feature to be considered nga, Carol! I somehow notice that cases for hoop earrings are nowhere to be found... Mukhang each jewelry receptacle might be a sculptural piece in itself! Thanks for adding to this interesting brainstorming series of comments :-)!

Oy! ang galing ah. Pang tapat sa mga handpainted china. When it comes to art, hindi pahuhuli ang pinoy!
